Hope Basketball Camp
The first two weeks of August were very busy at Haven of Rest. We were hosting our annual basketball camp. Over 150 boys and girls at this year’s camp learned skills and drills while they received the gospel message.A heart-felt thank-you to all the many men and women who contributed their time, talents and financial resources to help make the camp a success.
Haven of Rest Nights at Canal ParkThe Akron Aeros, AA affiliate of the Cleveland Indians, set aside six home games in their 2008 season to benefit Haven of Rest Ministries. Thanks to all who helped make this a success. We sold 1192 tickets through the mission to receive a donation of $3,576.
This special gift will help care for needy and homeless men, women and children.
Volunteer Opportunities
Make a difference for someone in need.Volunteers bring essential services to Haven of Rest Ministries. Each year, thousands of people offer their time, talent, financial support, and goodness of heart to the mission projects to help make a difference in the lives of the needy. Opportunities are ongoing, year-round.
Group Opportunities
Want your group, church, or business to help make an impact in the lives of hurting people? Contact Jan Pluck at 330-535-1563 or e-mail her at jpluck@havenofrest.org about opportunities. Now is a great time to have your group get involved in volunteer opportunities and/or plan ahead for a special Christmas project for Haven of Rest.
Dinner with Guido
On September 7, Haven of Rest Ministries served over 900 dinners for the “Dinner with Guido” fundraiser and outreach, and over $800 was raised from the bake sale. Guido and his wife Rose, along with family and friends, prepared authentic Italian pasta dinners. Great appreciation to Guido and all hands involved for the delicious meals and their continued dedication to the mission’s poor and homeless men, women, and children.
